Hi, I'm Musical Memoirs. The memoirs that i write is one in the form of amateurish music, it's all based on my feelings, hope you enjoy. To use my music you should properly ask for it, if you plan to use it for making profit then give me an offer.

UPLOADED A DEMO FOR ONE OF THE 3 DARK PIECES I HAVE BEEN WRITING LATELY, TWO OTHERS WILL FOLLOW SOON

well ive been very busy lately and havent got the time to spend that much time at music, but almost all of my free time has been spend well on music
for the once who are interested i am going to keep things updated frequently at a very simple system, wanna know more then just ask
trying to keep every musical related activity in here that keeps me busy whenever i have the time and even when i dont have the time :P

i could upload some demos, but decided not to because they are all on too early phases in my opinion, so you have to do with some words only for quite some time now

(the priority levels are just to show where i spend most time on lately or plan to spend a lot of time on)
priority high:
- learning: greensleeves
- learning: the legend of zelda wind waker - farewell hyrule king (a piano version on an older soundtrack from the zelda series, the legend of zelda a link to the past - hyrule castle)
- practicing and sometimes making attempts to get a beautiful recording of my newest dark themed piano piece
- following my piano lessons
- checking out my new music library (which has gotten HUGE)

priority medium:
- learning: the legend of zelda ocarina of time - lost woods
- practicing a small new composition which is harder then i can currently play (half in my head, half written on the computer... only a small concept being able to play), cant explain the style and dont know any piece in the same style either
- starting new compositions and improvisations
- making future plans on how to live as a motivated composer/musician in a wold where its hard to earn a living in the music industries (and im too much a beginner too)
- learning: chopin- Prelude op. 28, 15 (a way too hard piece again, but i love the song so im trying some part of it)
- writing a piece for harpichord suported by some wind instruments (and maybe some other instruments)

priority low:
- download music from great composers (low because im taking a break now... i have downloaded way more then i have the time for anyway)
- checking the great amateur music here on newgrounds
- rewatching nodame cantabile (a japanese animation series about classical music, its great)
- keeping all the pieces i already learned in my memorie by frequently playing them
- learning music theories
- making all kinds of musical plans
- writing a guitar piece for some people i know who play the guitar... might be an original piece or some piece which i have written already and altered to be able to play on a guitar
- taking some ear training to learn to detect interfalls, notes and those thing by ear

kinda jealous
really wish i can compose music.
I think of different music and how to mix and match, but draw a blank as soon as i dit infront of the piano.
Use ur skills wisely, young Skywalker....

i know some main reasons (there are a lot more though) why some musicians are not able to compose music themselves
one of the reasons that blocks you forever is the lack of creativity, but if you have something in your head already then thats houldnt be the case here, luckily

another reason is being a too skilled player already
some musicians can play beautiful music, sometimes very complicated music too... those people are so far that they wont be satisfied by something simple (and i mean something really simple (i could show you a lot of projects that i deleted long ago from here already or some pieces i never uploaded because they were so simple, yet with a lot of mistakes))
playing music and composing music are two different things (with similarities of course), both need different training... after all the time writing music (the electronic pieces are the same) i am only now at the level to make things in my head into reality a little, but even now, i can have beautiful ideas in my head but simply cant make it in reality (i dont even come close to what i wanted)
you just need to make a few small things of a few seconds while not being critical at all then slowly working to bigger and bigger... or try to improvise and simply continue no matter what mistake you make till you end up at some part you might be able to work on

but one thing is sertain... composing takes way more time then learning a piece, while not even achieving the results you wanted/expected to even when you dont mind it being simple... improvising is the only fast way, but at least 50% of my improvisations are completely useless whiteout any nice second and not even 5% survive it to sound kinda nice for longer then 30 seconds from the 5-10 minutes i usually improvise

while you are jealous about my composing, im jealous about you piano playing, though i never heard it i just know it would be way better then i am, even though im able to play some very complicated pieces, im still struggling with the beginner pieces xD

---
and something else...
a piano piece i have been working on for a few weeks is finally 'finished'
i am amazed how much i have progressed in many ways
hopefully i can still record it today to show you, since that newest piece is my pride

may the Force be with you!!!

Can't wait to hear ur knew piece.
I feel a bit guilty about not uploading any music for u to hear a taste of my music...
2 factors come into play.
the weaker one:..
I have no recording equipment..and no place to properly record it,l there is always background music, from a stray television set, dogs barking, random conversation, party neighbors, and my house is right underneath a popular air space for an airport....
poor excuse, becasue there is sure to be a recording space somewhere around, but I can't find one on the regular trips around town. And the equipment, I'm sure they cost around 75-100 bucks for a decent set, that's still alot of money when ur on a budget.
2nd one, which I find to hold more impact..:
The rules.
Being that I can only compose from sheet, It is not my music and not original to me. FAQ states that they have to be orignal, but I've never got around to starting a fuss about it.
I completely agree that composing is a slower process than learning. When learning a piece, it's basically just play, play play, repeat, play some more...then think about how the piece flows and adjust to that as needed.
Composing, I've noticed, needs repetition, but can be easily changed and forgotten completely by accident, and even if ur recording it on sheet, every time u go play it changes from the last time.
Thinking about it, it is extroadinory that people like Mozart and such can have a somewhat clear picture of what they are going to do, and do it over and over again.

_______
i'm a bit confused....
how are u able to do complicated pieces, and struggle with beggining pieces?
seems somewhat flip-flopped to me....

also the same reason i never uploaded the first two minutes of moonlight sonata first movement :P
but its completely your choice if you want to record it for whatever purpose
i still aim at earning a bit of my costs back with making music, so i need listeners

mozart is really something else
van beethoven too... they really mastered music as a language, beethoven wouldnt be able to write music if he didnt after he got deaf
i wish i had that much talent...

and sadly i didnt get a good recording yesterday (one did quite well but then something went wrong with my computer... gonna try another recording soon

i am at some hard pieces an amazing player, on others you see a big beginner
and my piano teacher cant understand it either xD dont know fully why myself either i know a few reasons though...
i frequently compose waaaaaay more complicated music then the level im at too
especially the newest piece where i really pushed myself to the limit at composing and playing (thats also why its hard to get a nice recording too)
but its my way to express myself even better instead of expressing someone elses feelings, so that might be a reason though

Thanks MM!

positieve energie begint waar jij gestrand bent.

Oooh oke, nou

Lijkt me leuk!

couldn't you just make a new post?

Where are u downloading music? Is it free? Where did u find music for the Legend of Zelda? I've been searching for there music in sheet music for a long time, my inspiration obviously has gone down since 5 yrs ago, but it would be nice to play music from a very adored game of mine.
--good job priortising your goals into seperate sections, makes everything easier on yourself..
Nothing else to say, keep up the good work!

http://www.zeldacapital.com/sheet .php
they have quite a lot!!!
i advice the 2 songs i play since they really sound nicely on the piano (they are still a bit too hard to play though :P)

i use torrents to download music a lot of music all at once
since there is still no rule in the netherlands that downloading is illegal, only to spread further is illegal here (that rule will probably within a few years be made though)
the way i download is composer after composer, found whole bach (bach is downloading...), liszt, beethoven, vivaldi packs and found huge (but not complete) mozart, chopin packs
and i have a few combined packs with a lot of different composers

whithout priortizing i would have gone crazy, too much i want to do!!!
a new goal is also in place now... writing a guitar piece (for a friend and my brother)

conversation with d-chain also goes for a part about me writing a piano part for one of his songs, when he has a concept of something he wants to have a piano in it then he will sent me a notice :P
